Immigration

On the 23rd November 2006 the House of Lords European Union select committee released a report saying that:

"Immigration into Britain from the new member states in Eastern Europe has been beneficial for the UK economy"

No facts or figures were released to support this report.[1]

On the 3rd of January 2007, Migrationwatch UK, released a report detailing that the economic benefit to the UK from immigration is just 4p per person per week. Far lower than the general whitehall consensus.[2] And migrants actually send over £10M out of the country each day.

On the 17th October 2007, a report detailing the regional impact to immigration says immigration is causing pressures on housing, education, health and crime in almost every UK region. [3]

This New Labour spin session needs to be brought to an end. Uncontrolled immigration is causing major pressure in the UK system for little economic benefit.
